Blogging about gnomes yesterday reminded me of something else I’ve been meaning to tell you about. Have you seen the movie Amelie and remember the traveling gnome?
We here in Jenworld also have a mascot that travels with us wherever we go, whether it’s just up to Washington, DC or all the way to the other side of the world.
One of the planters on my back porch, complete with gardening gnome and wee wheelbarrow full of even wee-er flower pots.
My friend Alison has a thing for garden gnomes. I agree, they’re pretty fun.
I was re-reading the post I linked above and started thinking about garden gnomes in general. Then I did some online shopping. Luckily, Amazon had plenty of options, which in turn led to this post. Because, you see, while there are plenty of cute gnomes out there that would look fun in any garden, someone — actually, somemany — had to take a fun idea and mess with it.
As you all know, yesterday was Mother’s Day. This is my Facebook status update from yesterday:

For my birthday last week, I got a stack of new books. Well, stack is a loose word, as some of the books came to me via my Nook. But still, I have a whole new pile of books to read, on top of the Big Ass Pile (real and virtual) of books waiting to be read.
