Then and now

I found this online yesterday and it’s worth sharing:

I’m not saying that the women in the top row aren’t beautiful too. Rather, beauty doesn’t come in just one size or in one look. Beauty is large and small and in between. It’s short and tall and in between. It’s all body types. It’s all hair colors, all skin colors, and all eye colors. It’s all ages.

Don’t ever let Hollywood or magazines tell you what’s beautiful because they don’t know anymore what truly beautiful women look like.

It’s that time of year again. Americans know this time well — You’ll hear a knock on your door and open it to find a smiling dealer Girl Scout with a shiv order forms in her hands. Or, you’ll go to the store and there will be a gang of them by the entrance pushing boxes of their products and they’ll guilt coerce you into buying their drugs stuff.

I am talking, of course, about Girl Scout cookies.

Buckled

Jen on the Edge - Annie OakleyBack in early December, my friend Jenn (and by the way, I have something like 15 or 20 friends named some variation of Jennifer, Jen, Jenn, Jenny, etc. and keeping us all straight requires a flowchart) texted me a photo of her Christmas gift from her company. EVERYONE in her office got the item in question.

I’m not going to say quite yet what it was, but I will say that my response was “That is FREAKING awesome.” If I was willing to use so many capital letters in a text, then you know it’s good.

Today you get to learn a new word

We had rather wintry weather over the weekend. It started to get messy on Friday night and then continued in varying levels of intensity until Sunday afternoon. In that time, we got rain, freezing rain, sleet, and even a bit of snow. Luckily, the accumulations were minor and the icy stuff has pretty much all melted away and run down the storm drains.
