Welcome to Jen on the Edge!
Hi there. I’m Jennifer. Also known as Jen. I blog from Jenworld, which is my house and the tiny bit of land it sits on and it’s sort of like my very own country in the middle of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Sometimes Jenworld is a democracy and sometimes it’s a benevolent dictatorship (and sometimes not always benevolent). We Jenworld folks don’t have a military, because we are a more or less peaceful nation with only four residents:
- Me (duh)
- Pete — the resident husband/ dad /co-dictator and the long-suffering token male. We met in college and got married in 1991.
- Graceful — the older daughter, who is 11. She has blond hair and blue eyes and a brain that never shuts off.
- Elegant — the younger daughter, who is 9. She has brown hair and green eyes and NEVER EVER slows down.
So, why “Jen on the Edge”? I started this blog at a time when I was under a lot of stress and needed the outlet. Believe me, blogging is way cheaper than therapy. Some people might not agree that it is as effective, but it works for me and, generally, the people who tell me I need therapy are the ones who actually need it most themselves.
Besides blogging here, I also write at Eco Women: Protectors of the the Planet! Eco Women is about saving Planet Earth one eco act at a time and I hope you’ll go check out the blog and try to do your part to save Planet Earth.
When I’m not blogging I do actually have a part-time job.
And in between the blogging and work and the family, I bike and run and go on long walks.
Oh, and this is My Precious:
My Precious is my favorite piece of furniture. It’s sleek and sexy and it’s actually really comfortable. If the house ever catches fire, I’ll probably turn into the Incredible Hulk and toss this over my shoulder, while leaving all the photo albums behind.
