I was doing some online fantasy shopping a couple of weeks ago, when I discovered these leopard print trousers at Banana Republic.
The comments to that Facebook post were mostly positive and affirmed that I really needed those trousers in my wardrobe, regardless of my body shape and size.. I dithered, however, and as of today, the only way I’m going to own them is if I suddenly shrank down to a size 4, which is simply not happening, short of spending a year on a deserted island with a volleyball and no access to chocolate.
I know that some of you are beyond tired of animal prints. I hear you. For a while there, it seemed like every store I walked into looked like the terrible aftermath of open hunting season at a game park.
In addition to the trousers, I’ve also been dithering over this cardigan and this dress. Again, as with the trousers, I find myself unable to commit. That’s a whole lotta animal print. I like mine to be more subtle.
Also, without getting specific about what I personally might or might not be wearing, a woman could wear something like these in an animal print under even the most subdued of clothes and no one would ever be the wiser about the wild woman within. Unless, of course, you’re a close friend of mine and we get to talking about undergarments and I flash you mine. Then, you’d be all too wise about my inner wild woman. If I had one, that is.
So that’s my current non-dilemma: How much leopard? How far should I push it?
