“You and I, as citizens, have the power to set this country’s course.”

-Barack Obama, January 21, 2013

"TWO Bibles. I am DOING this."

“Two Bibles? Pfft. BAM. Here’s MY Bible. Jill needed an assist to get it in place.”

“Foosball tourny in the White House Man Cave later?” “Damn straight. Best of three. Loser buys beer.”

"Did someone say foosball and beer? I'll bring Jaeger. Shots in the White House!"

"Step aside Clinton and let an old man show you how it's done. I learned a few things on my last mission trip to Haiti. Too bad Bush 41 can't be here. He rules at foosball."

This blogger is proud to be an American.

  1. I love everything about today–but especially that FLOTUS and Dr. Biden are smart, amazing accomplished women who also happen to be gorgeous fashionistas.

    *like*

It’s good to see Hillary up and about.

  3. Wasn’t the inauguration nice? Loved the dueling bibles. I feel so patriotic today! Feeling optimistic for a peaceful and productive second term, (although I admit I might have my head in the clouds a bit). Great to see the Carters and the Clintons, too.

  4. Where is my “Like” button? ;)
You made me smile this morning.
Nice to see our Secretary of State looking well!

Boy-howdy, I miss having an inauguration party with my NoVA neighbors…

I enjoyed it; kept the TV on longer than usual enjoying the parade. My 18-year-old was in the crowd for a while. A nice day.

  6. Violet says:

Yay! Yay! I’ve been joy-filled all day and just feel all YAY!

Me, too, very proud. And happy this year. Eight years ago? Resigned and embarrassed. Proud and depressed. Better now.

I admit to a rather unproductive morning at work watching the ceremony on youtube. Oops. : )

Loved the speech. Inspiring. Strong. Heartfelt. Now go get ‘em!

  9. Days like yesterday restore my national pride in a big way. Now I hope everyone can carry their dignity and pride in America and get some work done!
