Happy Friday everyone! I don’t know about y’all, but I am SO HAPPY the weekend is here AND that it’s three days long. Can I get an AMEN from the choir?
Here in Jenworld, Labor Day weekend isn’t just a three-day break for us. Oh no.
To start with, tomorrow morning is the women’s 4-miler I’ve been training for for six months. I’m excited, but also a wee bit nervous. No, I’m not wearing the freaking tutu.
After that, we launch into the birthday part of our weekend festivities. Someone here in this house is turning 10 tomorrow, followed 24 hours later by someone turning 42.
The 10-year-old is having a sleepover party here tomorrow night, so technically the 42-year-old’s birthday won’t kick off until we’ve ushered the last 5th grader out of here on Sunday morning. The 42-year-old is having a sleepover party that night, but I am his only invited guest.
I think on Monday we’ll all rest.
How can she be 10 already? Where did the past decade go?
What about everyone else? What are your plans for the weekend?
I wanted to comment on your Daniel Craig thrid nipple post, but couldn’t figure out how to. Just wanted to say that it made me giggle – I hadn’t known that fun fact about him – and that I am still swooning for him.
Thanks for the good research photos. Much appreciated.
Happy Birthday to the JenWorld residents! Awww!
Me? I think Ikea, some outlets, some brats and some rest. Sounds like a plan. Oh and finally getting to celebrate my 2nd anniversary – I didn’t want a third wheel so I hired a babysitter for tonite.
Happy birthday, happy running, happy post-run and birthday eating!
We are just relaxing. It’s been a drama-filled six weeks (basement flood and wet carpet, visiting friends who asked as my husband was putting the steak on the grill if we had any “kid-friendly food,” which wouldn’t have been so tacky except they had eaten with us the night before and we had told them exactly what we were having, the unexpected death of my mother’s gentleman caller, getting my mom here for the funeral, sick husband, sick – $109 – cat, etc, etc, etc), so we will be happy just to sit around and do nothing while nothing (we hope) bad happens.
Happy Happy Weekend. Happy Birthday to Pete and E (she just gets more beautiful by the day).
I’m going to read and maybe do some Tigger scrapbook pages and sit by the pool and cook.
Happy Birthday Weekend to Jensworld! And good luck tomorrow! Will be thinking of you as I get up late, have breakfast, and slug through the day. Seriously, I admire you for running ….4-miles! Dang. Pictures. Expect lots of pictures.
Your 10 year old is so prettyful!! Before you know it, she’ll be having her Sweet Sixteen and then, poof! She’ll be off to college shortly after. Ugh. Hug her tight and celebrate loudly!!! (Although with her sleepover, I don’t think you’ll have a problem in that dept.)
Don’t forget to pack your sleepover essentials. You know, special PJs, movies, snacks, toys. Hee.
Happy Birthday to Jenworld residents… I’m more than impressed that you are going to get up, run 4 miles, and then host a tween sleepover… Cheers, Dear!
Happy Birthday Pete and E! I agree–she’s a smart, beautiful and confident girl. Love it! And have a blast running your race. If you’re like me, you’ll spend the first mile cruising, trying to find the right pace, the second and third mile wondering why the heck we all do this to ourselves, and the last mile thinking, YESSSSSS. I’m doing this! You should be proud of yourself.
It’s Smiles’ 11th birthday on Monday. He is plotting his party mischief as we speak.
I’m excited to have our former neighbors and our best friends over for a cookout on Sunday. And hopefully do the last picture-hanging and unpacking wave.
Enjoy!
Sounds like LOADS of fun and frivolity! Yay! I have two nieces visiting here which means I plan on hiding out in my room while making my husband actually deal with two extra kids in the house. LOL
Have a fantastic fun filled weekend! I will be thinking of you during your run:)
AND she’s a looker! You’re going to be in trouble in about, oh, 3 years. : )
No 3 day weekend here. I’m off to LA for audits on Monday. Bummer. But I will get to see some old friends, so that’s good. The weekend will be spent recovering from having my brother and his family here for a week. My house? Thoroughly trashed. (Also – my garden? Thoroughly frozen. *sob*)
Happy birthday Pete and Ellie!!!! I too will be celebrating on Sunday – very low key, but nice I’m sure. Enjoy the 3 days off!!!
Enjoy your weekend!
Best of luck with the run!! I am confident you will do well.
Have a great weekend of celebrations.
I hope YOU get some sleep. And . . . You Go Girl on that run!
Golly, she looks cute in her glasses.
I must go stir my peaches as they ready themselves to become ice cream.
Have a great weekend!
It sounds to me like the 42 year old may have way more fun at his sleepover than the 10 year olds! lol
AMEN!
A decade – that’s nothing – you’ll go to sleep, wake up and 30 years will have gone by
seriously
‘least it seems that way
I hope the run went great. I’m going to indulge myself for a few minutes and lament once more that I do not have gorgeous hair like your daughter.
Then I’m going to go kayaking and, this evening, cover a Padres fundraiser as part of the “media.” Sometimes this blogging thing is a mind blower!
I am incredibly impressed with your ability to run 4 miles and then hold a sleepover! Happy Birthday to E and P!
A belated “Happy Birthday” to Pete and E!
