Chocomize

My friends, it has been far too long since I’ve done a Chocomania post.  Whatever is wrong with me?

[Besides the fact that I'm on Weight Watchers, so chocolate is no longer a huge part of my life.]

Anywho, I have something for you to check out — Chocomize personalized chocolate bars.  You go to this website and design the chocolate bar of your dreams.

Can you imagine it?  You can get ANYTHING you want on your chocolate, starting with whether you want a milk or dark chocolate bar.  (White non-chocolate is also available, but since I don’t consider that to even be a cocoa bean option, I hesitate to mention it.)

Then, once you choose your base chocolate, you can add in whatever you want — nuts, dried fruits, herbs and spices, various candies.  You can even get GOLD on your bar.

I swear, you can get anything in this country.

Of course, there are a variety of chocolate-on-chocolate options.  (Which, I guess, is the middle-aged woman’s version of some guys’ girl-on-girl dreams.)

It’s a dream come true, I tell you.

I was all set to go hog wild and order up several variations of Dream Chocolate, but then I took a closer look at the prices.

Gulp.

Ummmm… Okay, so these bars are a bit pricey.  Like, in the $6-7 range.  Yikes.  Granted, this is a bar that’s meant to be savored over two or three sittings, but that’s still a lot of money, especially when you factor in shipping.  So, perhaps this is something that will be more of an occasional treat.

But… I really want someone to try this out, enjoy the experience, and then tell me how wonderful it was.  So, I’m giving away a $15 certificate to Chocomize, which should be enough for you to order two bars and cover shipping.  (Although, perhaps I should go check my math…) All you have to do is leave a comment here letting me know what flavors are looking good to you.  I’ll take comments through 9:00 EST this Sunday night, randomly draw a name, and then announce the winner next Monday.

Good luck!

Jen is not employed by Chocomize and was not offered any goods or services in exchange for this post.  This is all on her dime.

  2. Skywalker says:

Make my dreams come true: almonds, walnuts, chocolate chips, and…white chocolate chips (mmmm butter)!!!

  3. paperdiva says:

I am troubled by some of the choices. they have beef jerky, but only vegetarian bacon? Parsley? Wasabi peas? No thanks.
I would have a dark chocolate, sea salt, caramel & cinnamon bar.

  4. m&m’s, almonds, and coconut would be amazing!!! They all look soo delish to me!!!

  5. Bacon and smoked sea salt. Real bacon. What is this “vegetarian bacon” of which you speak? That’s an oxymoron.

  6. ssheers says:

I would start with dark chocolate and then add coffee flavor and then more chocolate and maybe rice crispies for a little crunch.

  7. ssheers says:

Now that I’ve studied the options and they don’t have rice crispies, I would choose m&ms, coffee beans, and pop rocks in dark chocolate.

  8. Frannie says:

I’m not much of a chocolate fan but it is fun to mix and match.
(I just wanted to leave a comment – don’t include me in the give away. ) :)

  9. Pamela says:

Ohhh chocolate….here is the sympathy vote…when I’m sick (I have bronchitis–cough cough–yes I covered by mouth!) chocolate is the only thing that even remotely makes me feel better….
I vote for dark chocolate, coffee grounds, cashews, and sprinkles. Though the potato chips are interesting…

  10. Lauren says:

I would love some dark chocolate with chili powder, almonds, cinnamon and sea salt!

  11. jenn says:

Mine would be something involving dark chocolate, pretzels, pecans, and white chocolate chips. Oh, YUM!

  12. Sarah says:

Ugh- I remember you mentioning this company before. I SOOOOOOOOOOO need some chocolate right now!!!! My choices would be:
    Milk Chocolate
w/ flax seed, cardamom, toffee, peanut butter drops

    Milk Chocolate
w/ whole almonds, butter toasted peanuts, toffee

  13. Daisy says:

Dark chocolate, hazelnuts, perhaps dried cranberries, with a cup of strong Starbucks coffee on the side.

  14. Slow Panic says:

Hmmm. Dark chocolate, pecans, dried fruit, maybe some coconut

  15. Violet says:

If I’m gonna pay $6 for a chocolate bar, it damn well better have gold on it!

Let’s see…milk chocolate bar with caramel pieces, white chocolate drops, and cayenne pepper. I’m tempted to add the crystallized violet pieces (because, y’know, violet…) but for a buck-95 I think I’ll skip them.

  16. Kirstin says:

I don’t think anything can top the amazing chocolates you brought me last week but I’ll give it a try :-)

Dark chocolate, graham crackers, and cookie dough, and pretzels – oh my!!!!

  17. Jacey says:

Ohhh! I saw this site a month or two ago (on someone elses blog!!) and had a lot of fun creating bars.. that I never bought.
I was thinking that the dark chocolate with pop rocks would be an interesting option. Or perhaps with sea salt. I’ve heard that salt and chocolate work well.

  18. Sandra says:

Hi, Jen — long time, no talk!

How fortunate that I look you up at just the right time to have a chance to win a chocolate bar! Perfect timing! :)

The picture of the bar with pecans, walnuts and chocolate chips looks pretty darn good to me. But then I haven’t visited the sight yet and my standard for chocolate looking good is pretty low — it ALL looks good.

Hope all is well with you and your daughter.

  19. So I could get Adam Lambert in a chocolate bar?

  20. Angie says:

Yumm! I’ll have mine with raisins and pecans! Come on over to my place, Jenn, I am giving away an Excalibur dehydrator. Think of all the great snacks you can make with it! http://bigredcouch.com/journal/?p=3595

  21. Jordan P says:

Oooh milk chocolate, sea salt, and something caramel look great!

  22. Ryan G says:

I love the dark chocolate personally, add some butterscotch and hazlenuts.

  23. Dana says:

Milk chocolate, cinnamon, and toffee is all I need

  24. nina says:

Mmmm….dark chocolate, caramel, cinnamon and sea salt.
Or….dark chocolate, hazelnuts, candied violets and sea salt…

  25. Missy says:

Hmmmm, that s’mores bar with the teddy grahams and marshmallows looked mighty appetizing!

  26. Sheri says:

The white chocolate ( I know, not really chocolate) but bear with me… with caramel pieces, dark chocolate pieces, dried strawberries, dried raspberries, and gold flakes!!! Or… milk chocolate, with caramel, dark and white chocolate pieces, dried strawberries & dried raspberries……. I know.. you said one.. but honestly… can you only pick one kind there?? I think this year for my birthday I’m going to tell my family & friends to get me a gift card from there.. after all I will be 52.. and with menopause and living with my 3 grand kids.. it would really be for their own safety to keep my supplied with good chocolate!

  27. Joe Meade says:

Dark Chocolate + Dried Rasberries + (Chipotles or Coffee Beans) sounds divine.

What a fun idea for a site and a company! So hungry now. Thanks.

  28. Mmm…..Dark chocolate with toffee and pecans…..or milk chocolate with all things peanut butter….

I think customized bars would be a huge hit with kids…..maybe I’ll come up with a DIY version instead of loot bags at the Princess’s birthday….

  29. phdbakergirl says:

Milk chocolate with toffee and sprinkles!!!

  30. bdaiss says:

Ooo! Sign me up! Do they offer bacon? Because I finally tried a bacon choco bar in San Fran. Damn. I should have stocked up…
