Give ’til it hurts

This may be the most unusual charity drive I’ve ever seen, but I’m guessing it’s effective.  Check out the sign outside of a strip club in California:

While I applaud their charitable spirit, there is still something a bit skeevy about this.  But maybe it’s me.  What do you think?

  1. Don’t blame California. There are skeevy strip clubs everywhere.

  2. jenn says:

I’m just thinking that any kid who receives a gift through Toys for Tots is gonna want to wash their hands…

  3. alison says:

Shouldn’t that be ‘Toys for tits?” Just sayin’.

  4. Madge says:

oh no it’s definitely skeevy. but i’m thinking they probly don’t quite see it that way.

  5. alison cracked me up.

I saw an ad for Toys For Tats. Bring a toy to the Tattoo parlor.

  6. Josie says:

While some hand sanitizer would be needed for the kids, its ingenious in a sense. Bring in extra “customers” with free lap dances and help out charity.

  7. Ironically funny.
    And one-stop shopping for some…

  8. Jay says:

Lap dances and toys? If they had free jewelry it’d be fun for the whole family!

  9. paperdiva says:

    Toys for Tatas!
Actually, it’s kind of clever! What’s skeevy is picturing the dude at the toy store, imagining which toy will get him the best dance :)

  10. Kristin says:

I don’t know, what man isn’t more jolly and generous after sex… I think they’ve hit on something.

  11. Skeevy? …maybe. But who really cares why they donate a toy, if it means more kids get a happy Christmas?

  12. melissawest says:

That is hysterical! I mean, I’d totally object to my husband participating, but it is funny.

  13. Kirstin says:

As I read through the whole thing, I thought, “How nice… very thoughtful… WHAT?!!!!”

  14. Kristabella says:

I think it is a good idea! I mean, lap dances don’t really cost them any more money, and they are helping out the kids.

As long as the toy is in an unopened, unwrapped package.

  15. Fannie says:

GAH! My mind went immediately to Tickle-Me-Elmo getting a lap dance!!!!

  16. alex says:

Well, that’s just marketing genuis right there! haha!!

  17. Jaina says:

It is a little weird, but hey, at least they have the right spirit. I think I’m more disturbed that they will probably have a lot of toys to donate.

  18. Allison cracked me up, too. I just hope they drop the toy off before the7 get the lap dance…

  19. Hey Jen! I have an award for you on my blog today. If you are too crazy busy to even think about such a thing, no worries. Just saying I look forward to reading your posts!
