For those of you who follow me on Twitter, just a head’s up that I deleted my account this afternoon. Nothing major or bad happened; I just got tired of dealing with it. Between blogging here, there, and over yonder, plus Facebook, Twitter was the online thing that was starting to bog me down.
If you want to follow me on Facebook, email me offline.
And the good thing is — that is, if you like reading my stuff — now that I’m not tweeting, the chances are good things I would have tweeted will instead end up here on this blog.
Totally makes sense. Goodonya. I only recently joined Twitter. wasn’t following you but have already wondering just how long I’ll stick around there.
I’ve been a Twitter user for a couple of years now, and I’ve found what works best is to use it to communicate privately with a small group of friends. My updates are private, I follow 12 other people, and I only talk about programming. (I’ve got accounts for my various websites and projects, but I use those very differently for very different reasons.) If I were to try to use Twitter like most people, I’d be right where you are—I’d have quit ages ago.
I never did Twitter. I’ve been enjoying Facebook though, for short bits of news. I still like the blog as a way to truly express myself.
I’ll miss you Twitter, even though I’m not on it as much at the moment either. I do think it is brilliant, however, just very, very addictive.
Yeah, my only opposition to Twitter is I can’t spare the time for another communication method right now! I am following my brother’s trip through France on Twitter and that’s it.
I use Twitter mostly for work/industry news and updates. I do feel as though I’m drinking through a firehose of information and have a hard time keeping up. I do like using Tweetdeck, which makes it more manageable. Thanks for the heads’ up, Jen!
I deleted mine yesterday too! Too much to keep up with, you know?
I can’t abandon Twitter…since they blocked Facebook from work I use Twitter to update it. : )
But truly, while I monitor Twitter pretty thoroughly while here (for lots of Environmental info) at work, I don’t update very often anymore. Especially once I leave. Too many other priorities!
I really understand. I love blogging but keeping up can be hard work and very time consuming sometimes. Looking forward to reading everything here
Fair enough. I didn’t delete my account but I definitely stopped using it about a month ago.
