A very short tale of two drink mixes

I bought this yesterday:

No, I won’t let my girls drink Kool-Aid, but I am fine with a 2.5 pound container of chocolate milk mix.  Go figure.

Yeah, I’m OK with Nestle Quik, too. I think it’s because it’s mixed with milk…somehow it slips through the maternal radar. Also, my husband is addicted to the stuff, so it would be pretty hard to have it around & not let the kids have it. :)

I do see the words “less sugar” on the side of the container so you must be at least a tiny bit selective, yes?

It’s the milk piece. It has sugar in it, but it’s mixed in with calcium and vitamin D.
I’ve been known to let kool-aid slip through my radar if it’s sugar free.

  4. It’s the milk — milk is nutritious. My boys still love Nesquik. (13 and 18.)

  5. I’m fine with chocolate milk too. But not in a bottle. I hate seeing people give their kids chocolate milk in a bottle. (But it didn’t freak me out as seeing Hubs’ cousin put COKE in his 18 month daughter’s bottle and giving it to her in her crib for a nap!)

I am not sure if you choose the lesser of two evils. I would rather have chocolate milk – as in straight from the bottle but my mom too that this was sufficient and it kept me away.

I can honestly say we never drank this either. My kids will definitely end up in therapy!

I just snorted laughing. We make ours with Ovaltine–it makes me feel virtuous.

Yummy! Now THAT is some GOOD STUFF!

Haha. It’s so yummy in milk though. (I drink milk on its own…I love it…but I know a lot of people like to mix in a little chocolate to get it down)
