Man vs. Beast, part 3

The Squirrel Hunter woke up on Sunday ready to do battle with his nemesis, the Killer Squirrel.

(But in a totally non-lethal way.)

(No need to call in PETA.)

The Squirrel Hunter climbed to the attic and immediately discovered how the Killer Squirrel had re-taken the battlefield:  It had chewed through the flimsy metal screening AND more of the wooden louvers covering the attic’s vents.

Luckily, the Squirrel Hunter had gone to the hardware store earlier in the day and had bought heavy-gauge wire mesh to once and for all seal off the vicious beast’s entry into Jenworld.  Chew through THAT you furry little monster!

The Squirrel Hunter toiled long and hard to seal off entry to the attic. Finally, his labors were complete.  The Killer Squirrel would need a chainsaw and wire cutters to get in now.

On Sunday night, the Squirrel Hunter’s wife heard noise outside the house in the vicinty of the attic vent.  Yep, the Killer Squirrel was trying to regain entry.  After a few minutes, the noise stopped.  Nothing else has been heard since then.

Victory!

(We hope.  Cross your fingers.)

The Squirrel may be at Home Depot buying a flame thrower right now…

Wow – I think we are living parallel lives this month. I came here after reading your Sleepover ’08 twits. My daughter is planning her first ever sleepover party for next month, and I am somewhat apprehensive…looking for movie/activity suggestions. And here is this post… Last week I scared off a mysterious critter that I could hear scratching about in the rafters somewhere – banging on the ceiling with a long solid piece of bamboo got rid of it – for now. I am pretty sure that said invader will return. I wouldnt mind it moving in so much, if it would just sleep a bit later, that scratching noise is just too irritating, I can’t sleep through it… Good luck, sounds like you have it solved.

Squirrel Hunter needs a special gift for his prowess…I’m certain if you put your creative mind to it, you can think of SOME WAY to thank him~

    Happy Birthday Graceful!
