Literary yoga

The Jenworld Yoga Studio has recently developed a few new asanas.  We share these with you so that you too can take your yoga practice to the next level of enlightenment and literacy.

Basic Supine Half Moon pose with Crossed Ankles:

Shoulder Stand with Hamstring Stretch:

Extended Side Angle Variation with Wrenched Neck:

Child’s Pose with Awkward Hip Twist:

Upward Facing Dog with Leg Hike:

These are advanced yoga poses, so do not attempt unless you are quite limber and agile. And seven years old.

The yogis of Jenworld hope you enjoyed today’s practice.

  1. Excellent execution of yogic practises. I hope she was doing her pelvic breathing through all that reading.
What WAS the book? It was either thoroughly gripping or so boring she felt the need to have every body part touch every inch of the sofa instead.

  2. How can you read when you’re bent like a pretzel? All my mind would be thinking is “THIS HURTS! Owie!”

  3. I used to do that while I was reading when I was a kid! I had totally forgotten about that until I saw these photos!

  4. Dang kids are flexible! Well, your daughters are anyway. I think they have a real future with the Cirque du Soleil.

  5. Ellie has got some LONG legs!

    The better to yoga-literize with, I suppose…

  6. Just like barbra, that’s exactly how I used to read as a kid and I’d forgotten too!

  7. She should make her own DVD!

  8. These are great! I remember doing strange poses like this as a kid while I was reading. I wouldn’t even be aware of it, but my mother would happen upon me and say “put your legs down, that’s not ladylike!” Yes, I had *that* mother!

Now I just do regular yoga poses!

  9. I was little Lizzie do these poses all the time. I think I probably did that too. These pictures are awesome!

  10. I must travel south and study with such a yoga master. I don’t think my body will bend that way anymore. Leah’s can though.

  11. I think I’m going to have to read my book like that tonight… :)

  12. How adorable! Love the new positions and will try some of them out today with my laptop.

  13. No way do I still bend that way and boy am I jealous. Obviously a very very good book.
