Here’s a math problem for you:
What do you get when you have
1 9 y.o. girl
+
5 days of a fever that just. won’t. go. away.
+
1 hacking cough
+
1 juvenile head that keeps getting dizzy
+
3 missed days of school
? ? ?
Anyone want to guess? Anyone? Anyone?
Walking pneumonia. Woot! Lucky us.
Not.
Luckily, said girl child actually feels okay, except for when the fever starts spiking. The antibiotics/Tylenol should take care of the rest within the next 24-48 hours. Unlimited computer and TV time help too. Oh yeah, and maybe the resident mother will also offer up some cookies or something like that — to speed the healing process, of course.
And now I’m off to the pharmacy to pick up drugs.
NO fun! Here’s to cookies and a speedy recovery!
Oh poor thing!
Hope she improves soon.
Feel better soon, Graceful!
You won’t make her eat sugar snap peas now, will you?
Get well soon Little one!
Sending empathetic hugs – we had the ice cream days…glad they are over!
Hope she gets better very quickly – hugs to you too!
Yup, we had the same thing this winter. My daughter had NINE days of fever before I could convince them she needed meds. The chest x-ray came back clear, so they were emphatic it wasn’t pneumonia. Later her doc casually mentioned that walking pneumonia doesn’t show on an x-ray. Grrrrr.
Good luck! It took my daughter quite awhile to regain her strength. It really wiped her out.
That’s one of the only math problems I’ve ever gotten right.
I hope she’s better soon!
Poor girl! Feel better soon!
Oh. I’m sorry. I hope she feels better soon. I recommend lots of Gilligan’s Island and Brady Bunch on DVD.
Wow, that’s unusual for a child. Wishing her a speed recovery.
Sounds like a prescription of chocolate is in order! Hope she gets better quickly : )
Been there, so all my sympathies.
Cookies AND ice cream are a sure cure
